Bios

Jamie Spooner
President

Before starting Planeteria, Jamie worked at Microsoft for 7 years as a Design Program Manager. Her most noteworthy accomplishments there include the design of the Windows Media Guide Web site, the design of Microsoft.com's second Web site, the design of the Windows 98 site launch (over 1000 Web pages), and several marketing presentation designs for Bill Gates. She holds a patent for an Internet Radio Toolbar designed for Microsoft. Previously, Jamie held positions at two Boston advertising firms and was fortunate to gain a great deal of experience in marketing products and services to businesses of all kinds, including American Express, Digital Equipment Corporation and The Boston Symphony. She also taught design for one year in Switzerland. Jamie is a graduate of Smith College.

Steve Buroker
Senior Developer

Steve spent 14 years with Boeing and developed the initial communications software for the AWACS aircraft. Steve spent the last 10 years with Microsoft. One of his first jobs at Microsoft was to develop the first MSN.com portal site. Some of the code is still in use on the site today. After that he worked on various web development projects, most of which used SQL Server in some fashion. He was the lead developer for the first Windows Media web site. He has gained additional experience using the Microsoft .Net development environment and has developed using both VB.Net and C#.Net. Most recently, Steve was one of the developer leads on the Windows Update and Microsoft Update sites.

Heidi Peyser
Front End Developer and Staff Writer

Heidi has a background uniquely suited to build your brand's web presence. Heidi has been developing websites and branding campaigns since 2003. She has a bachelor's in psychology and business from Sonoma State and a Master's in psychology from Goddard College. She was the technological manager of several state and national initiatives on education and foster care reform. Heidi understands how web technology is shaping the way that all sectors do business from daily tasks to broad partner engagement.

Heather De Long
Designer

Heather is an expert in print and online design. She shares the passion for thinking "outside of the box" in her design for logos, graphic design, icon creation, color theory and user interface design. She has been working in the web and graphic design industry for over ten years.

Mary Hooke
Web Applications Developer

Mary started her career in New York City developing enterprise software for Fortune 500 Companies and wrote articles for Visual Studio Magazine and Visual Basic Programmer's Journal Enterprise Edition. She has always been on the cutting-edge of technology and began developing websites professionally in 1998. Prior to working for Planeteria, she was the lead technical designer for ArtInfo.com, one of the largest art databases in the world.

Keegan Ortiz-deKramer
Web Applications Developer

Keegan graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2005 with a B.S. in Computer Science. He spent two years at Carmel Software where his responsibilities ranged from development on commercial HVAC engineering software to maintenance of in-house desktop and web applications.

Jan Rippingale
Web Applications Developer

Jan has been doing programming, technical design and business analysis for 17 years, starting with the roll-out of the first hand-held devices by Pepsi-Cola North America. She was the Director of Application Development for Priceline.com when it was launched in 1998. She has been doing web application development ever since this intense introduction to the internet.

Bill Olson
Front End Developer

Bill got his start in web development while working for the Marin Humane Society. He has an Associate of Arts degree from the Santa Rosa Junior College in Interactive Media Design, as well as specialty training and expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite. He keeps his skillset current with continuing education in today's most relevant design programs and technologies with continued studies in video production, animation, web, and graphic design.
