TANK Bus Launches a New Site with Planeteria

BACKGROUND
The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) is an agency of the Northern Kentucky community, serving Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties and downtown Cincinnati. TANK provides public fixed-route and paratransit services as well as shuttles to and from local schools and Northern Kentucky University. TANK provides both fixed-route mass transportation services through approximately 108 city-type transit buses, and paratransit services through approximately 34 cutaway type vehicles.

THE PROJECT
Design, implement and host it’s website (www.tankbus.org) to enhance the user experience, simplify content management, and provide better information and customer service to users and potential users of the transit system. The website should provide appropriate dynamic content for users and potential users of public transit that keeps them engaged and coming back. The website should ensure that content sought is easily found and that navigation remains user-friendly. The emphasis is on incorporating extensive content management tools and database- driven architecture while providing a user-friendly and intuitive site structure as well as an interface that is attractive, accessible to people with disabilities (especially those with visual impairments) and offers users a choice of either English or other languages.
