The STA is responsible for countywide transportation planning, programming transportation funds, managing and providing transportation programs and services, delivering transportation projects, and setting transportation priorities in Solano County.

OBJECTIVE

Planeteria was tasked with taking a disorganized website with poor user experience and upgraded and enhanced every website feature. A major competent of this project was to make the most important website information more accessible to website visitors and easy to update for website administrators. This information included meetings & agendas, projects & plans, news syndication, employment opportunities, and procurement opportunities. Additionally, STA manages several transit-related programs in Solano County including; Safe Routes to School, Solano Mobility, Solano Express, Electric Vehicles Program, Clean Air Program, and AVA Program.

SOLUTION

Solano Transportation Authority needed Planeteria to design and implement a new website to enhance the user experience, simplify content management, and provide better information and customer service to San Bernardino County. The emphasis is on incorporating extensive content management tools and database-driven architecture while providing a user-friendly and intuitive site structure as well as an interface that is attractive, accessible to people with disabilities (especially those with visual impairments), and offers users a choice of either English or other languages. Making the website mobile friendly is also desired so that users are looking at the same content in both web and mobile formats. Project questionnaire, audience needs assessment, site map, wireframes, web style guide (colors/typography), mood-boarding, mock-ups, WordPress CMS, mobile responsive, hosting, and managed maintenance. Transparency

As a public organization, STA needs to be completely transparent. This means website visitors need to have easy access to projects, meetings, agendas, planning, funding, commuter services, and news.

ADA COMPLIANCE

Accessibility often naturally flows from good design. This means that the STA website was designed to deliver a great experience for all its visitors, whether or not they have a disability. We make sure the website is visually compliant and also technically compliant.
