ABOUT Ride Traffix

TRAFFIX is a traffic congestion relief program in Contra Costa County. Its sole purpose is to reduce traffic congestion caused by parents driving their children to and from school through some of San Ramon Valley’s most congested intersections. TRAFFIX operates 38 routes to 11 schools with over 1,750 student riders.

Traffix Website

TRAFFIX selected Planeteria as their website developer for development, hosting and maintenance of the TRAFFIX website and all related functionality. The scope of services included all software, hardware and services required to support the implementation, support and ongoing hosting. The TRAFFIX website’s audience primarily consists of parents of elementary, middle and high school students in the San Ramon Valley who fall into one of the following three categories:
  • Parents who are interested in learning more about the TRAFFIX Program and who are exploring the potential purchase of a TRAFFIX bus pass.
  • Parents who are actively purchasing a TRAFFIX bus pass.
  • Parents who have already purchased a TRAFFIX bus pass (recently or in the past).
Many of their customers work outside of the home and truly rely on the bus to get their children to and from school. As such, Traffix customers depend on our ability to provide accurate, real-time communications (texting and email) about daily bus operations as they impact their students and families.

After an onsite discovery session, information architecture was developed. There were several major components to this website project that made it unique including: real-time announcements, text/email route notification system, user data base, route finder/ map and ticket purchasing ecommerce, all of which are administered through the websites CMS. We continue to provide hosting and website maintenance services to TRAFFIX.
