Basin Recreation District

Established in 1986, Basin Recreation owns and manages over 3,000 acres of open space, has built and/or maintains 150 miles of trails and works with Summit County and state and local organizations on planning and conservation issues. https://www.basinrecreation.org/

BACKGROUND

After an in-depth onsite discovery session, information architecture was developed. The website was developed using WordPress CMS. We continue to provide hosting and website maintenance services to Basin Recreation. Much of the same functionality requested in the RFP website is included in the Basin Recreation website and is listed below. This website was launched November 2017.

SOLUTION

Utilizing stakeholder feedback, Planeteria created a site map, wireframes, web style guide (colors/typography), mood-boarding, mock ups, WordPress CMS, mobile responsive, hosting and managed maintenance for the new website.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Usability audit, stake holder surveys, wireframes, custom mobile responsive design, web development: PHP / HTML5 / JavaScript, jQuery, ADA compliant, multilingual, work flows, Google Analytics, roles & permissions.

3RD PARTY INTEGRATION

Basin Recreation District utilizes many 3rd party tools. One of the most important tools that was integrated into this site is Dash. Dash is a Facility and  Parks & Rec management platform. Throughout the website visitors can register for a fitness class, rent a facility and much more.

MAPS

ARC GIS data is used to map trails and open spaces for website visitors. Using a filtering system, visitors can select a trail that best fits their needs.
